Act 48 Training for Substitute Teachers
Substitute Teacher Service gets right of way to Free Act 48 Training
July 12, 2002 -- The PA Department of Education announced
that it will offer free, on-line training sessions to ALL
PA certificated teachers. These training sessions will help certificated teachers including substitute
teachers acquire the credits they need to meet current Act 48 requirements.
Substitute Teacher Service, Inc. has worked diligently for the last eight
months with legislators throughout the state of Pennsylvania to have substitute
teachers included in the free, on-line training programs provided by the
Pennsylvania Department of Education. This bill was introduced to the
House on Wednesday, April 10, 2002, now House Bill 2555.
