In order to substitute teach in any Pennsylvania school district,
you
must possess the following credentials:
A valid
Pennsylvania Teaching Certification or
equivalent (see NOTE A1)
A Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34) that is clean and less
than one year old -

A Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) that is clean and
less than one year old -

An FBI Criminal History Record that is clean and less than 1 year
old

A $36 processing fee is required. Please be aware that these
fees may change without notice. You will need to bring your
Proof of Transaction Receipt containing the PAE number when you come for your interview!

you elect to have a paper copy of your report, it can not be used in lieu of
the processes established by the Department of Education and the
Cogent System.

NOTE A1 - A Certification Equivalent
can be:
An active emergency certification
(E-Cert) issued by the state of PA, however, candidates must meet the following requirements for the
issuance an emergency certificate in addition to all of the requirements
mentioned above: Please note: It is the right of the school district to
deny any E-Cert -and- E-Certs do not cross county and school
district lines. Click here for a

A valid teaching certificate issued
by another state that is in the process of being converted to a
Pennsylvania Certification.

Emergency Certification
Requirements are:
Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree or
better and actively working toward PA Certification.
Candidates must obtain and complete
the PDE Form 338G.

form. Important Note! Leave #2
in Section II blank. A legally qualified Physician must complete
section III - Health Certificate. Be sure to complete the entire
form and sign in section VI.
Candidates must get a set of
officially sealed transcripts
from the college or university that conferred your degree. We cannot accept
opened or
Internet transcripts.
Candidates will present a copy of their degree.
You must have all of the above in-hand before we can set up an appointment
