EFFECTIVE 12/1/2008: CHANGES TO FBI
CLEARANCES:
School districts are now required by the
Department of Education to review all prospective employees and
contractors (subs, aides, etc.) FBI Clearances before you can work
in their school districts. Before you come to STS for your interview,
you must have completed the Cogent Fingerprinting steps as outlined and
had your fingerprints taken at one of the approved fingerprinting
sites. After you have been fingerprinted, you must return to the
Cogent website to review and print your
status
report.
You must present the Registration Status form from the Cogent
website that includes the Registration ID, the Fingerprint Date, and
Transaction Status. Please note: the Transaction Status must be
"Submitted" in order for the
processing of your clearance report to continue. Please refer to the
Cogent website
for complete instructions.
If, at the time of registration, you elect to have a paper copy of
your report, the paper copy will not
be regarded as the official report, and will not be used in lieu of
the processes established by the Department of Education. It's
purpose is to provide you with a copy of the information that the
school district officials will see when your report is reviewed.
